Handleless, and wider across than it stands tall. That puts more surface on what is in it, so a coffee comes down to drinking temperature instead of sitting scalding.

Yours will not match this one exactly
Hand-dipped, so the glaze settles a shade thicker to one side — read across a plate as a faint drift of grey. We photograph one piece from a firing and send you another from the same one. The difference is small, it is real, and it is the reason this is not factory ware.
Firing record
- Clay
- Stoneware, fine
- Glaze
- Grey satin, full dip
- Cone
- 10
- Atmosphere
- Reduction
Cone 10 is 1285 °C. Reduction is an oxygen-starved kiln — it is what greys the glaze and warms the bare clay.

Care
- Dishwasher
- Yes. Fired to 1285 °C — a dishwasher is nothing.
- Oven
- To 220 °C. Never straight from the fridge.
- The foot
- Left unglazed and slightly rough. It will mark a soft table — use a cloth.
